WHAT ARE THE KEY QUALITIES NEEDED TO CARRY OUT YOUR DUTIES?
Listening, flexibility, a little patience and also being convinced and convincing! The knowledge of a quite a few jobs in aeronautics and industry such as engineering and project management, business, production and management really help me in my daily life.
IN A FEW WORDS, WHAT IS YOUR JOB?
I joined Hutchinson on an internship in 1997, time flies! In a little over twenty years I have held several positions: I was a Development Engineer and then an Engineering Leader in Industry, then I specialised in aeronautics as an Aerospace Engineering Leader.
In 2015, I became Director of Control & Display, I took over the development and production teams related to man-machine interfaces that we offer to our helicopter customers.
In 2017, I progressed to become Director of Mechatronic Development. On the one hand, this consists of managing the R&D team on our two main product lines, Control & Display and Active Vibration Control Systems. On the other hand, I work on business development in France and abroad.
Innovation, prospecting, contracting, product development, project risk management, contract negotiation: in the end, what I like most is the diversity of the subject matter and the clients I meet!
IN SHORT?
I work in cross-functional professions within a wider scope. It is an opportunity that I seized and a responsibility that I was able to assume thanks to the involvement and autonomy of my teams, the confidence of management, and of course by being committed on a daily basis.
We start from the simplest expression of need to the production and evaluation of the product: we transform a concept to deliver equipment that meets high standards and we see all the steps until evaluation.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF YOUR POSITION?
Working in the technical and commercial professions allows me to introduce and maintain the necessary link between the Hutchinson development teams on the one hand, and on the other, the various customer contacts: buyers, managers, developers or end users.....
A MESSAGE FOR THE CANDIDATES?
Without any doubt, I would say to them: “be committed, be confident and get involved! The autonomy we have as employees at Hutchinson makes it possible! Be proactive and if it doesn't work the first time, persevere! We are lucky that we are listened to and able to implement multiple projects! We have a great legacy at Hutchinson, which we have constantly enriched over the course of our history. We started with rubber soles, today we stabilize helicopters and install real-time vibration control systems.”
